DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACOLOGY

The Department of Pharmacology focuses on the study of drug actions, interactions, and therapeutic effects on biological systems. It explores mechanisms of action, safety, and efficacy to develop and evaluate new medications. The department plays a vital role in advancing medical research and improving healthcare through experimental and clinical pharmacology.

The Pharmacology department has well equipped laboratories that enable us to do Preclinical studies.

  • Received grants from the AICTE under TAPTEC programme & RPS programme and from DRDO, New Delhi.
  • Received Staff Development Programme (SDP) grant and Short Term Training Programme (STTP) grant from the AICTE, New Delhi to train the teachers & students.
  • Registered Animal House (Reg. 265 / PO / ReB / S / 2000 / CCSEA) approved by CCSEA, New Delhi for the utilization of animals in research.
  • Providing hands-on training in all equipment meant for Pharmacological screening.
  • The faculties attend Seminars, Symposia, and Conferences periodically and also they are being invited by other institutions as resource persons to share their knowledge.
  • Published 124 research papers in referred journals.
  • Museum enriched with specimens, models, and illustrative charts.
  • Interaction with institutions and universities in and around Tamil Nadu through consultancy activities.
